Lightning Strike

Just wanted to let anyone know that might not be on FB that James was working a flooded road in Florence putting up barricades yesterday when Lightning struck a pole he was standing next too. He walked back to his truck but passed out and was rushed to the Hospital and is there under observation. He said He's fine and has no burns at all. Drake was here visiting us for a day or two.

From Florence, AL PD FB page:

March 26 @ 4:00 pm
Yesterday, at approximately 3:30pm Officer James Piteo of the Florence Police Department was struck by lightning while placing barricades at the intersection of Chisholm Rd and Gresham Rd due to flooding. A Ranger, riding with Officer Piteo, and other Officers were able to provide immediate first aid. Officer Piteo was then placed in the backseat of a police vehicle with a paramedic and rushed to NAMC where he received medical treatment. Officer Piteo is still sore but, doing good. Officer Piteo and the Florence Police Department would like to thank everyone for their kind words and prayers.
God's speed with your recovery James!
