Labrador Retriever
I'm looking for a lab puppy and want to get one from a reputable breeder that health tests their dogs before breeding them. I don't have to have world champion bloodlines but I don't want one from a puppy mill. Anyone have any recommendations?

I'm not trying to sound harsh when I ask, but what is your purpose for the dog? Working or pet?

We lost our lab in October of 2014. He was almost 13. Hunter had hip and shoulder problems, diabetes-2 shots of insulin daily, $pecial diet grain free food and kidney failure. He was neither pet or working. He was family. He lived in the house and slept on the couch most of the time when we were gone. He picked up a pile of doves a couple of times a year (like a boss) and went out to the end of the driveway and got the newspaper every morning until diabetes took most of his vision.

Best answer possible!
Two of the best dogs I've known (I'm a little biased) are my dog Sasha, and my buddy's dog Diesel. They both look similar too. Diesel is a Black Lab/German Shepherd mix, and Sasha is a Black Lab/Greyhound/Shepherd mix. I was just wondering if you had considered something other than a pure bred. I've read that many of the health issues that Shepherds and Labs have is due to them being pure bred.

I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
