Thread: Jumps/falls from balconies?

I don't remember ever seeing so many jumps/falls in one season. 3 that I've heard of (another today at Tidewater), maybe I've missed some too. What's up with this? Something funny in the water down there?

The one last month at Turquoise was really odd to me. You read about that one? There with *friends* yet no one saw a thing? 18 year old kid? Wee hours of the morning? Those places rent for really high $$. Who rents to anyone under 25, and what teenagers can spend the money on Turquoise? No info really on this one yet, but yeah, I'm starting to get a creepy feeling. I don't like heights either. We are on the 3rd floor when we come in next month, but even a 30 foot drop would probably do me in. Guess I better start being extra nice to the husband so he doesn't get any ideas.

Seems this was yet another teenager (17) from Louisiana. Same as last month. His parents were alseep and didn't know he'd even fallen. You don't just fall over the railing. Sorry. You either have to be doing something extremely foolish (like sitting on top of it), extreme horseplay, or you jump. So sad.

Most falls I have heard about involved alcohol. Not all, but most.

UPDATE: The teenager that fell from a 5th floor balcony in Orange Beach this morning has died. Police have not released his identity. (per WKRG News)

That's terrible news.
