Jake saved 2 kids
I don't know all the details but I understand that Jake Rezner saved 1 0r 2 kids from being swept out to sea by a rip tide today at Gulf Shores.

A hero in our midst?
I'll buy that man a beer.

God bless this young man!
He surely did a fine thing Pop, you can be proud of him!
His notice of the act on FB was characteristically humble...
"just saved a life" was all he posted.
He may be too young for a beer (legally) but I'd like to buy him a Coke and shake his hand again!

He told me about it today. It was 10 12 miles down Ft Morgan road, around the condos.
2 kids were caught by the rip tide, the father was trying to get them but only got himself in trouble, Jake got the young girl who was closer to the shore first, got her to shallow water, then went after the boy who was now about 75 yards out, Jake got to him and he was all over Jake, Jake was able to hold him and bounce up and down as the water was just inches over Jakes head, he got them to shallow water, and took the kid all the way to the beach. He said he was ready to lay down on the sand and rest, but the Father was in trouble, so Jake went back out, but got close to the guy and told him to bounce up and down off the bottom and go Parrell to the shore, as jake was too tired to try and tow the guy in. Anyhow, all 4 of them made it back to shore.

Hey, I work at Fox 10 News, and this is the kind of story we would LOVE to cover. A local hero. If anyone has a way to get in touch with Jake or his family so I can ask if they would be interested in a possible story, please do -- or pass my phone number along - 251 689 8014. My name is Chris and I work at Fox10. Thanks and well done Jake!

I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
