People are shocked to see sharks in the water around here.
If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.

I thought that we all had agreed to stay away from religion and politics. There are plenty of other forums to take conversations in those directions. Besides, the original post was about "Jeopardy!" and the contestants not knowing anything about football. I was amazed that people didn't know about "fair catch", "Dallas Cowboys" "off-setting penalties", etc. We all have holes in our knowledge base and we have a tendency to think that other people have been exposed to the same things that we have - Like knowing what a "lateral" is and that the Minnesota Vikings' famous defensive front four were "The Purple People-Eaters".

Sometimes it seems that 'politics and religin' has crept into just about everything. lol
Will footsball be next on the 'VERBOLTEN' list?
I was a 'Packers fan' back then ;-)
Went with N.O. for a while with the league expansions.
But proud to say I have been "Saints sober" since 1995!
I quit watching after that (before it was 'fashionable'), but still knew enough to 'run' the category ;-)
I watch Jeopardy almost every day. Just to see if I still have 'powers'.
But luv me some Alex Trebek. He is the quintessential game show host IMHO.
Articulate, nice dresser, smart and no doubt, FUNNY!Last edited by Pier#r; 02-03-2018 at 12:10 PM.

I watch regularly, too. I think that it provides a little mental exercise every day. I'm clueless about current POP CULTURE, but I can still remember trivia items pulled from who-knows-where from many decades ago. I agree about Alex - what an iconic figure for so many years. There'll never be another!

Did you hear he had to take a medical leave to have a blood clot removed from his brain?
Hopefully, he is fully recovered now and back to work filming the next episodes...

I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
