Hunting in a tie?

Hey Old Swamp Gobbler, What's up with the neck tie in your who's who pic?

I ain't got good sense.... :)....I figgur if you gonna meet the king of the woods....you need to look your best....

I hate wearing ties, but If it helps in getting a thunder chicken I can suffer thru it! I thought you might have found a use for it like storing calls or strikers. By the way, what kind of callers do you use? If you're like me you've probably got 100 and take 10 with you hunting and then wind up using 1 or 2. I mostly use pot style friction calls. My favorite is a Roy Rhodes "Yeller Yelper" glass with a carbon striker (high pitch) or a hickory striker for a softer tone. A close second is the Mad Calls Super Aluminator with a custom made "epay" striker. I have a friend that makes custom calls (R&K Wood Products - Greenville, AL) and I go to his shop and pick through his vast collection to see what sounds best.

I use the pots and boxes that I build...I got a friend in Tn that makes trumpets...I use his trumpets and a local guy makes mouth calls...I need to convert this pier cart into a turkey call hauler.... ;D

I use it when a tom is henned up. It is high pitched and raspy. It pisses the boss hen off and she will come running for a fight and the tom will be right behind her! Took a buddy of mine hunting a few years ago to call for him so he could get his first gobbler. Tom was hung up with hens at 200 yds. in a pasture. Started cutting with that call and all the hens ran to us with the tom trying to strut and run at the same time. My buddy almost hyperventilated and then MISSED at 40 yds! Even though he missed he says that hunt was the best turkey hunt he has ever been on.
