    Hunting Season Wrap-Up

As the Alabama season comes to a close on 2/10, was just curious how everyone has fared this year. Even if you don't hunt in Alabama, I'd like to hear your reports. Pics too if you want!

I killed a couple of bucks, nothing to brag about so there's meat in the freezer.

    Anyone else?

I kept letting the does walk hoping the big buck would step out, no luck and no deer this year.
Shot a nice sow, she didn't drop and ended up down a hill and across a property line, no piggie.

At least I got some quality time in the woods and some damned fine naps.

I managed a few. One of which was my first non-typical. Hunted Oklahoma and Michigan this year. I was supposed to hunt Wyoming for antelope, but they "finalized" the season dates for my unit a month before the season started- the problem was that the dates were not the same as the dates in the unit when i applied for the tag. We had planned a trip to Montana, visit to Glacier, vrbo cabin, and antelope hunting on the way back. The finalized season started two weeks later... But, all in all it was a good season and the trip to Glacier was incredible.

All I shot was one 100#+ bo' hog. I passed on a few small racked bucks to let them grow up. Relatives shot some does and let me fill my freezer. I seem to be losing my enthusiasm for shooting deer. Lord knows I've killed enough of them since my first one in 1957.

The game warden mentioned that people have been seeing hogs in my area. I haven't seen any, or any sign. Hope it stays that way. I imagine they'd make a mess of my orchard in a hurry.

Had a decent quick season once the weather change for a couple short weeks during the rut (first of November) started hitting the woods right after my fall fishing trip to the pier.... 3 in not many sits in the woods 2 with Xbow , then the last waited for gun season to hunt with a good friend , first day got it ....all were big bodied deer..... been a while I was able to make jerky in time for family & friends here for Christmas presents.... usually it all goes on vacation with me and shared there the pier

We had a fairly slow season in north west MS. I shot this buck right before Thanksgiving

Thanks Bill. I wouldn't mount one if he was twice as big but I do Euro them. My pup Tali running quality control...
