How high's the water, Mama?
I made the trip back across the 'Bigbee at Jackson, and like John G said, the water was up close to the bottom of those shooting houses in the field to the east. I was in a clump of traffic, so I couldn't look to be sure, but I think there were fishing poles stuck out of the viewports. There are places along there where people probably have set lines out from their back porches. Darn this high water to heck.
Crossing the Bayway, the wind was blowing so hard the coots were clumped up behind the bridge supports to keep from getting blown all the way to Ft. Morgan.
I was planning on going turkey hunting this afternoon, but I looked across a field just in time to see a gobbler try to strut, and the wind got under him and blew him across the field like a big, feathered tumbleweed with a startled expression on his face. I didn't have in me to take advantage of that. I can tell you that it's a true story because I just now made it up. Gonna be cold in the morning, and I already have a blaze going in the fireplace.

It was 32 this morning in Wetumpka/Montgomery. Had to cover my 'maters so they wouldn't freeze. I'm just glad I held off on everything else I need to plant.
I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
