Thread: Gulf Shores, Orange Beach Fort Morgan Evacuation

I just spoke with an employee at a large rental/real estate company to cancel our spring break reservation. She said the island is to be evacuated and that only local residents and people who work on the island are allowed to stay. Can anyone confirm this?

EDIT: I can't find anything on any of the local news or tourism sites that mention this. So far they are just closing the beach and sit down dining in restaurants.

EDIT #2) Thanks to Ironman for doing some research and finding out this only applies to guests of Brett-Robinson managed properties.

I got a call from the company I rented from they offered to reschedule or refund. But I'm coming down anyway. So that's all I know. This was a couple hours ago.

Bill that lady should give you a full refund. You're a loyal-regular for her during the lull after Spring Break and before school is out for the summer.

She is holding the check I just sent for the extra week(3rd) that might get that back....

but hey things can change in a month for the better, it all might be good but fishing pcola or Navarre everyday..... hate the thought of the beach and sand all over everything

I would think there would be a refund clause for a mandatory evacuation if that is indeed the case. Brett-Robinson is giving full refunds.

It should be looking way better in a few weeks, the only ? Is construction on the pier..... but not going to deter me , hope i can fish gulf shores, but very willing to drive east to fish too

I hope this has subsided somewhat by then but this is a fluid situation. With beaches getting closed I fear everyone is going to crowd the piers and then they will get closed down. Praying everyone stays safe and healthy. I don't think I could catch many from six feet down in a pine box.
