Thanks Stik, you guys have some of the best riding in the country!
Back in our RV years, we always hauled the Harley with us when heading to mountains. That ride to Cherokee is always awesome; one trip we rode right under a black bear cub hanging on a tree limb above the road. Great stuff!
we do have some beautiful rides around here. we had been wanting to escape on the bike for the weekend but the weather has been miserable. we spent the night in Cherokee. the route: from Lenoir City on hwy 11 to Loudon. onto hwy 72 to hwy 411 to Madisonville. hwy 68 to Tellico Plains and the Cherohala skyway to Robbinsville NC. hwy 19/441 took us to Bryson City and on to Cherokee. took 441 over the mtns through Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge to hwy 321(wears valley rd). hwy 321 to Townsend, through Maryville, where we stopped for a late lunch. on to Lenoir City and home.
Stik, FinChaser: I agree w/both of you. I have been up there four times in the past couple of years and have enjoyed all of the places you have mentioned to include "The Dragon", Maggie Valley and Ashville, NC. That really is some good riding up there. I hope to go soon again.
