Cant seem to find it online anywhere. want to let me in on the good news? the seawall is one of my favorite places to fish or just to relax and pass time.
I found an article on the repairs and posted it on FB under the GS Pier Rats Group if anybody is interested. Don't know if it's the same one John is talking about but seemed pretty up to date on the subject. Couldn't figure out how to post it to the forum maybe somebody that's more computer smarts than me can move it.
Was this the article to which John was referring?
Orange Beach looks at Perdido Pass seawall fix - GulfCoastNewsToday.com: News
I have been pursuing that with different State of Al departments for three years. All I have gotten is evasion and pass the buck responses. The Governors office was worst of all closely followed by the DOT. Great to see some local initiative.
Yep, the guvner has been too busy getting his arms around other distractions to worry with this!
It appears the City of Orange Beach may NOT pursue the 'quick fix' solution after all,
instead they are leaning toward the more expensive long term solution :-(
No matter what the level Government tends to choose the most costly and least timely solutions to most problems. At my age I doubt that I will ever see the Perdido Pass area ever return to it's old level of usefulness. Re our Governor I think he has lost any possibility of effectiveness and will be a lame duck for the rest of his tenure. His request to the head of ALEA to delay/defer/obstruct the prosecution of Hubbard bothers me a whole lot more than his "messing" around with his staff. The "messing around issue" is one for his wife to handle and I think she did. I would like to see Hubbard go to trial today and would love to sit on that jury.
This is still in being actively discussed. Don't give up yet.
thats just not right on so many levels.
