Good Lord blessed my family..
I worked a 24 hour shift and managed to get blown 5 times after getting in the stand at 4am.(maybe i was snoring), after waking up every 10 minutes or so to check the plot he stepped out at 0643 and the m77 mkII 7mag with 140gr sierra hpbt and a max load of retumbo unleashed the gate of hel on this young buck... well being he was only 50 yards away the fast moving bullet exploded on impact and i thought i missed the way he casually walked off the plot.... I gave chase!! I made it to the bordering fire lane and found him cornered in a tall brush pile. That's the reason I "glock", i glock ALL the time. the 40sw crit defense made short work with a heart shot. best deer of my small 18 acre place.
weighed 245
Decided i wanted to bow hunt a stand that i love, but everyone else hates(because they never "see" deer when they hunt it). Well my wife asked if i'd take my youngest niece Kyah along.... Well I said yes, being that her sister killed her 1st doe with me, she wanted to do the same... so i grabbed my 22-250 tc topped with a khales 2x7x32 and we went hunting. after 2 hours this sad daddy came cruising to my tinks drag and bottle hanging in the plot.. Kyah nailed him! he ran through 3 creeks and into a swamp off the mighty pearl. I made her blood trail him, even after i found him.( she did great considering such a small hole in the buck from the 35 grain varmint grenade she hit him with.
weight was 220. score was 126 6/8 would have been a pope and young if i would have got him with my bow. lol
my oldest neice also got another doe that evening when hunting the next stand down.
2 days 2 great bucks and 2 great does. Proud of my peeps!

Tom, we really enjoyed hearing you two tonight at Post 44. We have heard you before at the Elks Club, but you were in particularly good voice tonight. That was as fine a rendition of "You Were...
