Glowing orange ball in water?

I was just curious if anyone saw the glowing orange ball in the surf moving West to East around 11:00 pm last night (Wednesday) I am not positive how far offshore it was since it was hard to judge at night not knowing how big it was but I would guess it was 300 yards offshore and 3-4 feet in diameter a d was only moving a couple of miles pper hour.

We observed it from the beach at our condo just west of the pier and i am just curious what it was. It would have gone under or near the pier at around 11:00-12:00

My sweet and lovely wife and I, along with a few more fishing folks, observed an orange glow at Perdido Pass. We were night fishing at the sea wall ( '05 ). The glow came from the jetty area and moved slowly along the sea wall to the bridge. Some one made a cast at it, but got nothing on. When it passed below our location, we saw a diver with a flashlight/ lantern swimming. He must have known he was in an area that was heavily fished, surely.

All i can think of is the diver, or maybe a kayaker or maybe fishzilla ate the sun when it got close to the water

I saw an orange glow/ball of light one night several years ago while out on a friends boat. We were about 15 miles out from Gulf Shores. We circled around it a few times and couldn't get a good look. It was moving with the current the same speed as us when we shut the engines off. We floated alongside of it for a few minutes. It looked to be about 3 feet under the surface but the water was kind of dirty so we couldn't tell what it was. We got the long handle net and went after it... ended up being a waterproof diving lantern.

We looked all around for a boat and headed up current as we went back to shore. We never saw a boat. We notified the coast guard of what we found because we were certain there was a diver out there somewhere in trouble. We stayed in contact with the guy we spoke with there just out of concern. After a week of no missing persons or missing boats, he gave us the lantern. That thing kept working with the same batteries for about 6 months while being used for a couple hours every other weekend. So there is no telling how long that thing was floating in the water before we came across it.

I watched one float by Perdido pass a few months ago while night fishing. Floated right by the wall.

Little larger than a basketball and a faint blinking orange glow.

Very often it's a diver you're seeing, particularly if it is moving with the current. Best thing you can do if you are in a boat is go in a different direction. I can tell you from first hand experience how terrifying it is to have a boat prop come close to you. I've met many divers over the years with prop scars.
