Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I notice this forum, (my favorite), is being used less than it used to be. Maybe because a lot of fisherman can't post photos anymore with the newer phones and file size. I also see GS Pier Rats is becoming the "go to" site. I don't have the answers but I'm missing my favorite old forum.
Maybe it will pick up if they don't close the Pier and the fish start biting.
Hope your wrong, I quit Facebook years ago. No desire to go back, tried Instagram until I discovered its another Facebook.
I'm with Robert on this. I think a lot of it my have to do with the fact that not much is happening on the pier right now. Nothing much being caught except tiny white trout. I'd really hate to see this forum waste away---I have a facebook account but don't use it much.
Yep, take a moment to look back at traffic during previous February's. Then take a deep breath because they will return ;-)

Posting pictures is not an issue for me. I've just not been going fishing nearly as much this winter. The adverse weather conditions for the last six weeks or so have kept me inside and working on other things. The times I have been to the pier have mostly been just walk-throughs which I've reported on. Water conditions will improve and if the pier remains open, I'll report from time to time. I'd like to see everyone contribute reports, though. I know that there are regular fishermen who frequent this site, but don't ever contribute to it.
The reality is that because of the water/weather conditions that have the water dirtied up, the whiting bite has not been especially robust. Furthermore, there are only three winter fish for the most part - sheepshead, white trout and whiting. I don't usually fish for white trout (they seem to have been mostly small this winter). I'll get back to fishing again when the water clears and/or the other species start moving back in when it warms up a bit. If the pier is open then, that is.....
I hope your all correct on this issue.
I don’t usually post unless I am down there fishing, but I do check nearly every day to see what is going on. This forum is a valuable resource for those of us who can only venture down a few times each year. I appreciate the reports.
We were down for a couple of days this past week for my wife, but I only did a walk on to see how things were going. I didn’t think it was worth hauling all the “stuff” so only tried a little surf fishing.
I check the forum everyday as well.
Mostly because I don't want to miss the next Haywire medication story.
