Had a great lunch special at Doc's on canal St. and a dozen oysters at King Neptunes for 8 dollars. Looking for specials of the day, happy hours, etc. Too many places to try and would love some insights. Thanks for any help

We really enjoyed Doc's on our last trip....never liked to fancy and that was right up to our liking with great food and atmosphere....can't help out with others, but if you find something else please post it
If you are looking for good, cheap ,simple food you might try Desoto's .I especially enjoyed the flounder Lunch Plate . If I remember correctly ,large serving of fish , either choice of two or three sides ,bread ,and ice tea for $ 7.95 . Lou and several other of the locals told me about it .
just moved to the top of my list, for a must to visit.... multiple times our next trip....thanks

Neptunes has some great lunch specials. If you like fried chicken livers you won't find any better. Big Fish in OB has a good price on lunch time sushi rolls if you are into sushi. Wolf Bay in Foley has a great salad bar if your trying to keep any new years resolutions.
Most places have good lunch and early bird specials in the winter. Here is a link that may be helpful:
Gulf Shores Restaurants ? Orange Beach AL Dining ? Restaurants in Gulf Shores
Sea n Suds is always reasonable lunch or dinner and its right on the beach. West Beach Grill has a good breakfast that's pretty cheap.
The hotdogs at the GSPPier are pretty good (when you haven't eaten in 10 hours ;-) LOL
Can't say enough good about Crico's Pizza = YUMMY!!!
Pizza Gulf Shores, AL - Crico's Pizza & Subs 251-948-3100
we would always go to Lillians ....but that is in Florida...love there Hawaiian pizza
staying in Orange beach and sometimes in Perdido key just seems not to far to go for a pizza
Gourmet Pizza, Italian Food, Locally Owned, Lillian's Pan Pizza, FL
Thanks for all the suggestions, keep them coming. Fished from 1:30 to 3:30, nothing but cold. Still beats ice fishing.
Re. State Pier hot dogs: I've only had one and it tasted real good (Chili dog) which surprised me, but then I kept on tasting it for the next six hours. Almost completely broke me from burping.
+1 for Desoto's, really good meat (or fish) and three. Reasonably priced. Like Bill said Lilian's is great and so is Doc's. Lot's of good choices-I'll pass on the pier hot dogs if I can. Don't need that "re-occurring theme" thing going on.. And there's fresh raw bonita eaten on the peir when they are in if you like shashimi.
Ate at Nolan's happy hour last night. Grouper was great for 5 dollars!!!
Happy Harbor, east ST Rd 6, (1st road left after bridge) Raw bar in back 6$, all the grouper you can eat on thur, I can attest that the grouper and shrimp are awesome.mike
Just came back from Cosmo"s. Great happy hour and sunset menu.
Did not plan on coming down till May. Y'all keep talkin bout all this food and I might have to make a February trip!!!!
Keep in mind that Cosmo's will "cook your catch"-bring a fillet or two and they will cook it to order with side salad and two other sides for $14 per person. Their firecracker shrimp and cheese dip is perty dang good too.
I still love the Original Oyster House. Years ago they had AUCE popcorn shrimp and fish during snowbird season, from like 4-6pm M-Th. Do they still do that????
Doc's in GS used to have a great buffet. And the original in OB had a great blue plate at lunch.
One thing I have not found in either GS or OB is a good Chinese place, don't always want seafood when we eat fish 2-3 times/week!
went to Gulf Island Grill for Happy Hour. 1 dollar beers and some gumbo for 5. It was ok..
Oh man, I miss Cricos. They made some awesome pizza and delivered. Used to have a friend there that would bring us Pizza at my work. It was awesome. My favorites were Wolf Bay Lodge, Shipps Harbour, and the beach club. Reasonable prices, Shipps was a little pricey but they are right on the harbor and do have specials. There's quite a few, most places offer some kind of deal during the winter because a lot of snowbirds won't go there unless there is a good deal.
Original Oyster House still has the AUCE POPCORN SHRIMP in the off season at less than ten bucks. It is consistently good. The wife and I always have lunch there on our arrival day before checking in and unloading. She gets the popcorn shrimp basket and it is more than she can eat but I have to overdo it with the AUCE deal. I recommend it.
I cannot believe nobody has mentioned MIKEES! They have absolutely the best blackened fresh fish and sides that I have ever been fortunate enough to come into contact with. Also, (although not seafood) Franco's has some of the finest Italian food in the South
Mikees also for the AYCE mullet special on Tue and Fri.
