Flies
Hey guys went to my daughters house to repair some things while walking in early morning the flies were driving me crazy. My daughters house is on Rt 180 next to Bon Secour Wildlife Area.We never had that many flies before so the question is does anyone know where they are coming from? When I lived in New Jersey we fished Delaware Bay and when the big tankers would come up the bay headed to Philly they would bring those flies and they would stay for a couple weeks.living next to Bon Secour lots of wet grounds and never remember a problem like this.Maybe some local people can answer the flies question. Thanks guys and gals Tom

They vary with seasons and wind direction, but they can be really bad in that area. Deet does not do a lot of good with the flies, but if you are desperate a light dose of Raid on your legs will keep them at bay (probably not very healthy and I would not do it a lot).
I really don't like insecticides, but sometimes when we need to stay outdoors under my friend's house flying insect spray is all that will do it.People are shocked to see sharks in the water around here.
If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.

Be careful and use spray. I got Cellulitis in both legs from them a few weeks ago and it was NOT fun.
Even worse it made me unable to fish for a few days.

I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
