Afternoon to all. I will be in the area in Sept/ Oct. And have been selected to do the last pier shark fishing. I m looking for bright led light that goes on your head. Can someone please offer a good recommendation. Like to get one that's rechargeable. Thanks again.
Get one that includes a red led as well, doesn’t mess up your night vision for knot tying, etc.

I would use my hand held Dewalt light bright with red light too, the larger 20v batteries would last and quickly replaced if needed.....during the shark thing there are plenty helpers , I've got a real bright rechargeable head lamp but wouldn't want to wear fishing, not sure it would slay on bending over the rail at all..... the larger 1000 lumen

Lowes and Home Depot used to have a good selection to look at. It's been a few years since I needed one, but that's where we bought them.
We always used the kind that takes AA or AAA because we could not stop to recharge.
I use battery style also. Black Diamond brand, first one failed within a year, second has done ok. My bicycle lights are rechargable types and I have had both front and rear fail several times, I like the rechargable lights, they just don’t last long for me. Just my .02 cents worth.
I use the streamlight, replaceable batteries, 3AAA, works great for me and gets used almost nightly.
Is it bright for pier use at night?
I use the coast hx3 -- mine is in camo color but it looks like the hx5, which is rechargeable if you want to use that feature, or just insert another battery and charge up later. It clips on your hat so it is MUCH easier to wear, IMO, than one of the headlights with the web feature. It has a focus beam for wide view or spot, and it will light up a deer's eye across a pretty good size field.

Lifetime warranty. A little pricey if you go up in lumens, but the 300 plus of this model has been plenty good for me. Great on the pier, great under the hood at night, great in the woods.
This light doesn't have a red option.
