Final Sturgis post
Final comment on my Sturgis trip. 3,392 miles, 8 states, 17 days on a motorcycle designed to be a boulevard cruiser not a touring bike, through some of the toughest riding terrain and summertime conditions I've ever encountered. Mountains, high plains, endless prairie lands, and our good ole piney woods. I'm 54. Had a heart attack and have Type II diabetes. What's your excuse? Life isn't a rehearsal. Grab some.
Screw it. Let's ride.

Just gotta commit to it. It's not easy and at times it was down right hard. More than once I questioned my sanity and a couple times came close to quitting. Was it worth it? Oh, HELL yea. Betchurass.
Screw it. Let's ride.

Proud of ya Dive Deep. I myself am 63, ride a 2012 Electra Glide Ultra. It does keep you young and active. Live to ride forever.

Ye ole Fat Boy is getting traded in tomorrow on a '14 Street Glide Special. Like the Fatster, but not for a 3400 mile trip. It's great for around town or day trips of 3-400 miles, but that's about it. I'm planning on some more road trips, so.......
Screw it. Let's ride.

I was wondering about the "legs" on our Fat Boy Lo's... so I followed all your Sturgis posts. I knew 3000+ miles was going to be challenging. But you did it, and proud for you.
I saw a '14 Street Glide Special at my dealer in P Cola... and was lovin' on it. It was in that Morocco Gold Pearl... and it was GORGEOUS. Looked at it twice... looked at it again... and started thinking about cashing in on the Ol' ZX 14... and walked away from her. I still am diggin' those 207 horses inside my Ninja, and just smiled as I walked away. Maybe next year, when I turn 58. Lol
Anyway, I enjoyed your trip.

I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
