It was 39 years ago today I was a freshly minted Private at Ft. Knox when we came back to the barracks just before midnight .
With all of us in the big open bay barracks it was loud and someone puts there Giant Boom Box on top of a wall locker and cranks it up.
Then a voice came on and said that John Wayne had died today , , that whole floor fell silent in a second , Seems like yesterday , Wish we still had more like him in Hollywerid now in stead of what's out there nowIf you are going to fight, fight like you are the third monkey on the ramp to Noah's ark and brother, it's starting to rain!

The yellow bellied sap suckers running Hollyweird today probably wouldn't stand for John Wayne to be in their town. Probably why I quit buying what they're selling years ago! Miss John and the rest of the good guys!
