Suggestions on where to stay.
Wanting to come down May 25-30th. Looking for suggestions on a cheap but nice place to stay. Two adults and 9 and 13 yr old. We Mainly want to fish the pier. Location is not that important but would like to be no more than 15 to 20 mins from pier. Stayed in nice condo last time but too costly for the little time spent in it. Thanks

Magnuson Hotel and suites on west fort morgan road is fairly cheap and was nice when i stayed there last time, location is nice cause you can follow fort morgan road across 59 and it will bring you out directly across from the pier, just make sure its the one on fort morgan road, there is another magnuson hotel up the road that is a complete dive

I like Sugar beach condos. I use VRBO/ITRIP I get the single efficiency for just me. Close to the pier and has a security guard.

2nd for Sugar Beach / VRBO. Just got home yesterday. spent last week there. Super close, very reasonable prices. Availability at this late date may be a problem.

Hi, jsfising:
I usually stay at the Beachside Resort Hotel when I come down. It's pretty reasonable and clean, and they have a decent continental breakfast in the morning. It's fairly close to the State Pier, as well.
Good fishing ...

Memorial Day Week / Weekend...could be tough. Peak prices everywhere.

Man of you don't have a booking /reservation yet, you may be out of luck for anything but the very best or worst.
I've tried to book decent hotels for holidays before within 20 miles of the beaches and found out you better do it six months or more in advance.
I hope you find something.Ragnar Benson:

Sorry to say, but you may want to look for something in Foley...IF you find something in GS/OB area, it won't be cheap. 5/28-5/30 is the "1st official" weekend of summer and prices everywhere will be jacked up due to the holiday weekend, if there's anything available at all.

Other way you can go if hotels are booked and you like camping is to stay at the campgrounds, fairly cheap, nice place, and not far from anything, thats where i'll be next week

Up to 30 mim away would be okay. We might look at campground. Have stayed twice before and like it. Had a blow out in the motor home on the way back to north georgia last year. Kinda leaves a bad taste.
