alright, my dog has been knawing at her tail bout 2" from her rear, she has chewed well past the skin and has a small amount of blood in her fur, she has never done this before and has NEVER had fleas, I've been putting anti-pain medication on it, any thought on what it is or how I can fix it?
I'd start with a visit to the veterinarian.
Cut the tail off at 1 inch below the itchy spot !!! problem solved !!! lol. JUST KIDDING of course!!!!

No, Really probably a vitamin or mineral problem sodium potasium. We had a dog once with low potasium and she had to put some (not table salt like MSG on her food).
My wife is a vet tech and said it's your dogs anal glands, have someone express her anal glands.

we're taking her to the vet tomorrow, it is getting infected, we just finished wrapping up her tail with goz so she would stop messing with it
just got back from the vet, it was the glands in her rear, vet told us to give her Benedrill
If it doesn't get better, ask him about having them removed. Did that with my poodle. He was having hell and after a short surgery, all his problems were solved.
Also, as Duck said, might want the vet to teach you to express them (squeeze the fluid out of them). Kinda gross at first but nothing to it after you do it a couple of times. Big time relief to the pooch. Basically just like squeezing a big zit.

Just make sure you wear gloves and clothes you dont mind throwing away if it gets on u. That smell LINGERS
