I'm pretty sure it was aliens. I was just out on the back porch and saw some of their miniature scout ships flashing on and off in the shrubbery. I think I'm about to break their code.

The flag was securely on its pole and was lying down amongst my rods---if it blew overboard, it's a damned wonder the rest of my rods didn't go with it. I saw it in the rear view mirror about halfway home and it wasn't flapping in the breeze, so something/one/being must have swooped down and extricated it from the tackle tangle. I didn't speed and my poor old truck isn't capable of it. I have received a couple of strange messages, but have not been able to decipher them, except for the one where I won an all expense paid cruise the beaches of Somalia.
