If the oral surgeon tells you twice that you really should consider the IV sedation, trust me when I tell you that, "Aw hell, doc, just numb me up and get after it" is not a wise reply. #oxycodone on board.

Sometimes I just amaze myself with stupidity. I really didn't think it was going to be as bad as it was. The worst part was hearing and feeling the scalpel cutting my gums open. brrrrr.

I didn't really feel pain - got 5 shots. Even my ear was numb. But the sound of the scalpel hacking through my gum and the smell of bone being ground down nearly caused me to puke and pass out. Originally Posted by Haywire

I hear yah bro: worst medical experience of my life was having two wisdom teeth removed: Doc said "they'll come out easy, lets just give you gas & Novocain."
First one popped right out. Second one took a 1/2 an hour, he ended up cracking it in four pieces and pulling the pieces out. Felt like he had both hands and one foot in my mouth pulling on my jaw. I was in shock to 2 hours, couldn't drive home.
I'll never have a tooth pulled without going under again. As Haywire noted above, "Pain is just for people who can't handle drugs."divedeep likes this.Carl
