Well, I'm shellfish allergic....so eating shrimp is an accident for me and a fast trip to the ER. Not pretty. I can only fish with them if I wear gloves. But....
At least you guys can FISH with local-caught shrimp.
Thanks for the info about the frog legs. Now I'm wondering where those buffets get their chicken.
My favorite place to eat fish is at Rich's Place. :)

It surprising how many resturaunts here do this. I stopped eating at the Shrimp Basket because of this and Swai from Vietnam that they serve and call Whitefish! I'll only support those that serve local stuff

So which restaurants near the pier are serving locally caught seafood?
It might not hold the same weight but years ago I was eating at a certain marina and walked by the trash cans the restaurant has outback and there was frozen tilapia boxes everywhere. Here’s the kicker, Tilapia wasn’t anywhere on the menu! Why can’t restaurants be honest with what they are serving, who knows. It’s all about the money I guess.

Per their corporate offices Shrimp Basket tail on shrimp are U.S. wild caught. The popcorn shrimp is imported as is the whitefish or Swai. They are obligated to tell you the country of origin of their seafood if you ask. Getting a truthful answer may not always be possible. Like David said, imported shrimp is questionable quality at best.

This is exactly why when I come down I bring home at least 10lbs of shrimp for Joe Patti's in Pensacola. It's very reasonable in cost and I know it's local!
