Crossbows
So, i went home to Michigan to hunt late in October. I finally patterned a good 3.5 year old buck and hung a stand on one of his travel routes with 3 days left to hunt.
That evening, i went out to take a shot with the crossbow to make sure everything was still good. It shot 2 inches high and a little right at 20 yards. Might not sound like much but this crossbow has been shooting nickel sized groups at that distance since I bought it. So I took another shot. The limb tip flew off into the distance and my bolt went into the bottom of the target. This is an Excalibur GRZ2 recurve crossbow. I bought it 3 years ago from Dicks online, and they did the poorest packing job ever. They really just tossed it completely assembled, scope and all, into a big cardboard box. When I received it, The stirrup had punched through the box, it was bent and chipped. One of the limb tips had gone through the side of the box. My first instinct was to send it back but after looking it over for any obviously dangerous problems, I decided to shoot it first. My first three bolts produced a 20 yard dime sized group. After several more groups, my average was about the size of a nickel. So I kept it knowing it had seen some abuse before I got it "new".
Anyway- on to the impressive part. Excalibur has a lifetime guarantee on their crossbows to the original owner. I filed my warranty claim yesterday, today I got an email telling me that they were shipping my new limbs and installation hardware. I wish everyone had customer service like this.
If memory serves Bill (Ironman) bought a new faster crossbow- hope he reads this and can give a review on it.

Been hunting with an Excalibur for over 25 years. If there is a more accurate crossbow I do not know of it. I only take one arrow with me in the woods. Never needed a second.
Beware the power of fools in large numbers

Finally got it out , shoots great, needed a little adjustments from the original owner
Just made 2 short sits, first got busted (think from the new record rack pellets ) mixed in with the corn.....next watched multiple does hanging around , but with rut coming decided to pass and just watch
To dang warm for killing now , plus dropped my county limit to 2 instead of 3 like past years
And working on a neighbors house putting on hardi siding since he is unable after his motorcycle wreck almost loosing his leg ..... my time is coming for the harvest
.
He was doing it off a ladder with boat winch to hoist the 4x8 sheets, took my scaffold off the top of my hill and over on top of his where he was building , using my 20ft chain fall for the hoisting , dang those sheets sure are heavy, never messed with hardi board before, by myself , I feel it , and fighting the wasp, stink bugs glad we finally had a couple hard frost ..... but the warm weather has returned
My backup x bow or loaner , with one more tenpoint hanging (my original titan)
