Windy but the worse is on it's way.....almost to mobile now..... john g said 9pm is when the bad will get here, hope it's gone by 1 to 2am when I am starting my trip home .....weather permitting. ....never made it a 2 day trip before, but this might qualify if my departure is delayed at all.....like to get the dark driving out of the way when I am the freshest .........
Glad your OK kid, There's a lot of people that can't say the same after this mornings storms. A few years ago this weekend we had a system come through a I think six people were killed during a sailing regatta in Mobile Bay.
Gulf moisture has been pouring out of the sky here for the past 3 days. The latest Mississippi River predicted crest at Cape Girardeau, Missouri (48.5) is right at the all time record high. Wednesday and Thursday forecasts are 90-100% chance of rain again. Lots of folks including my dad are getting flooded once again.
Some local areas got 8-10 inches of rain just over last night. Have not heard a storm total yet.
Earlier today I decided to ride my 4x4 through our field. The tracks from the 4x4 hold water and I was driving through and I came across what I thought was a snake and hit the brakes. It was an eel!!! Not a normal eel. It had blue Eyes and Little feet looking things. No ditches near the spot. Abandoned sewer pond but it would have to crawl over land. I'm lost.....
We've had these before, but on the driveway near a ditch. please help, what is it?

Looks like cobia bait to me.
seems strange that it ranges from Virginia to Texas. those are some varied terrains. it is obviously good at adapting.
Was pretty dang bad in Mobile from around 6pm on past midnight. Lots of wind, 3-4" of rain and lightning. luckily no tornado warnings but we were having tropical storm force winds pretty steady for a while. Lots of small branches, leaves, etc.. all over the place. I know there was a least one neighborhood close by with a tree down & no power.
Went back this morning, he was gone. They thrive in places like that, they feed on crawfish, frogs and insects, and we have a ton of small crawfish on the trail. We have sunshine and no wind. Louisiana weather never ceases to change! We had 70 degrees weather this past christmas!!
Not normal down here.
