Cigars
Just wondering if anyone else enjoys a nice smoke. I’ve enjoyed them occasionally for years, but my wife bought me a humidor for Christmas and that’s allowed me to store them properly and enjoy them more often.

I have in the past but haven’t had one in probably 4 years. Once I had kids it’s hard to find time or place to enjoy it The last good cigars I received (hand made Mexican) dried out before I had a chance to smoke them.

Back when I smoked I enjoyed cigars fairly regularly.
There was a place in San Diego's Gas Lamp Quarter, the Cuban Cigar Factory that specialized in fresh hand rolled cigars made with premium tobaccos from around the world.
They had pre-made or custom, you could select any combination of filler and wraps and have any style made on the spot. I used to have them custom roll some Cheroots from some really robust Honduran leaves.
They also sported a wide selection of premium commercial cigars.Ragnar Benson:

Never learned to appreciate cigars, I was too busy puffing them Marlboros and Winstons. Now that I don't smoke any more (25 years) I don't find cigar smoke any more pleasant than being caught downwind of a pasture fire.
The other day on the pier, a guy was smoking a huge stogie and I never could seem to get upwind of him---he kept moving. The worst part was that the cigar was obviously homemade and consisted largely of shredded surplus army wool blankets that his sick dog had died on---maybe some sort of memorial thing.Last edited by Haywire; 06-01-2018 at 09:40 AM. Has there been any momentum for clean air laws in Alabama? Seems like only those states that are South of the Bible Belt are the only ones left without any... outside of Florida. I always thought smoking sections of restaurants similar to making a no peeing section in a pool. Doesn't work haha.

Most if not all indoor public spaces are non-smoking in AL. Very few exceptions (bars maybe???).
Some outdoor areas are as well, but this is up to each establishment.
Not sure about the pier.Carl

Is it terrible that I'd rather have my kids exposed to vulgar language than heavy second hand smoke...?

Sorry, I suppose they do have them but meant not as stringent was my intention. Up here there's full indoor non residential bans, bans on in the workspace (so even outside you can't technically smoke on a job site, work crew etc) as well as distance from building requirements as well.
I did this find this:
Section 22-15A-4
Prohibition against smoking in public places; exceptions.
(a) No person shall smoke in a public place or at a public meeting except as otherwise provided in this subsection and in Section 22-15A-7. This prohibition does not apply in any of the following places:
(1) Bars and lounges.
(2) Retail tobacco stores and tobacco businesses.
(3) Limousines used under private hire by an individual or corporation.
(4) Hotel and motel rooms rented to guests, except for those rooms designated by the hotels and motels as "no smoking" rooms.
(b) Smoking by patients in a chemical dependency treatment program or mental health program may be allowed in a separated well-ventilated area pursuant to a policy established by the administrator of the program that identifies circumstances in which prohibiting smoking would interfere with the treatment of persons recovering from chemical dependency or mental illness.
(Act 2003-314, p. 770, §4.)
I'm amazed that GSP allows smoking after reading that.
I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
