Here is the side that fronts the run.
Thank for the pics Carl.
My run is about 8'x20', it was our pen for the dog when she was a pup. Big for 3 hens but they like it.
I just sold our dog kennel awhile back before I knew we were having chickens. My friend kindly offered to sell it back to me for more than what he bought it for....jackass! LOL
Well it is finally finished aside from the run. That is this weekends project. Anyway here are the photos.

The entrance ramp was used with scrap and sectioned scrap 2x4 popped down using small nails/nail gun. The legs of the coop are treated 4x4. Hard wear cloth behind the windows to keep varmints out. Leveled the whole coop Sunday, should have done that at the start because that thing is heavy as hell. I wanted to make it a bit wider but for 8 birds this is plenty. Chicks arrive on 7/9.
Hope yall enjoy the pics. This has been a fun little project.
A couple more of those beers and she ought to balance right up plumb Jake ;-) lol
j/k nice looking build!
Nice coop.
My hens are getting close to laying, boss hen's combs & wattles are fully developed and bright red. I figure we will get the first eggs in the next two weeks.
snake, your coop is awesome! Hoping to get our coop/run done this weekend as well. Might be a little embarrassing to post picks of mine, after seeing yours...
Like the supports on the nesting box, might have to add a couple.
WOW! You even made your doors square and rectangular.....! I pretty much just busted out the old reciprocating saw and based my openings on what I would like if I was a chicken. Not the prettiest design, but it will suffice. LOL!
Aw shucks BDL, thanks. I had a general idea of what I'd like to see in a coop but also be functional. Also, the project manager aka the fiancé was there overseeing where her "babies" would be living and what colors the coop would be.
LOL! Once the fiancé (project manager) becomes the wife (boss and owner) and tells you you're past deadline and just get it done.....ya just get it done!
I looked into the tool that makes plunge cuts(forget the name of it). Too expensive, so I just drew the lines and went to work using a circular saw.
Here's the flock, two Barred Rocks and a Cuckoo Moran.
No eggs yet, I keep telling them to get to work....

I like that fencing you have Carl. What kind is it? Good looking birds you have too.
My dad and I drove all 10 8' posts Saturday morning and started running chicken wire yesterday around noon. Needless to say that didn't last long, we got one 32' side finished and called it quits...109 on the heat index.
The main fence is a 2x4 welded wire, got it at Tractor Supply. But its a little too large of a mesh, small critters and dog snouts can get through. Plus it was big enough for the chicks to get through when they were small.
So I added some green plastic poultry mesh from Home Depot, along the bottom. Also used it for the top.
I'm using 1/2" hardware cloth for my run, a lot more expensive than chicken wire but hopefully worth it. We have a lot of raccoons, foxes and coyotes up here. Nice looking chickens by the way Carl. We have a Barred Rock also, probably the friendliest one in our flock.
Snake, there has got to be a good Chicken Snake joke somewhere in all this
I used to work with a guy who liked the cock fights while attending LSU. his name was Tom, but quickly was dubbed "Chicken Tom" by the plant staff.
Haha, if there is a joke, it hasn't hit me yet. Speaking of chicken snakes though, a friend of mine killed 3 with one almost 7'. Shot its head off and when her son picked it up tail first, you could see all the yolk ooze out of it. That snake HAD been eating good!
Couple picks of my soon (finally) to be complete coop, just need to finish the trim and some caulking. The run is done however...excuse the mess!

Very nice!
We got our first eggs this weekend. 2nd one was a double yolk. Other two were small.

Looks promising , Carl . Hope that we get our first eggs SOON !!! Seems I have some reluctant hens ,
We are getting 1-2 eggs/day now. from the different look and shapes of the eggs, it looks like al three are laying.
Here are my chicks, Australorps and Wyandottes. They're getting big fast!
Nice looking peeps!
All three hens are laying but one cant seem to understand where to drop her eggs. Keep finding eggs laying around the end of the ramp up into the coop. Guess she couldn't make it....
Here's a pic of our girls.

All three eggs in the nest today, guess she figured it out!
Snake, the one in the back is a Silver Laced Wyandotte. She's the smallest of all of them but has the biggest attitude!
