Birthday Bird...
I have been pretty lucky getting a turkey on my birthday over the years....I got in the woods and the birds had lockjaw..I got my trusty old $6 box and was just sitting there pondering that I was one year closer to being as old as Haywire...after the woods got alive I made some yelps on the box and got quiet for a spell just listening...about 30 minutes later I got a little louder and set the call down...it wasn't 15 minutes and I heard drumming...shortly a two year old with loving on his mind slipped in...
After I got him back to my tree and sit there a few minutes I decided to have my birthday cake....

Cool---those two year olds are God's gift to turkey hunters. I love 'em, and I'm glad you got to celebrate with your hand up a turkey's butt. I'm jealous.

Happy Birthday!
And congrats!
A little tip: put the wings, thighs & drum sticks in the crock pot with a couple cans of cream of mushroom soup for 4-6 hours. Good eats.Carl

Congrats on the birthday bird! Season here opens Saturday, and I have a birthday coming also
...nothing like killing a turkey on your birthday (then going out that afternoon and catching a bunch of fish!)
I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
