Where is the best place to buy a dozen (besides Wally World and other grocery stores)that aren't too expensive? Little Debbies get old after a while and I was thinking about bringing a few to the pier next trip.

There is a place off of Perdido Blvd. (aka hwy 182) that was pretty good. We found it last time I was down. Pretty sure it was City Donut, but won't swear 100%. Nonetheless it isn't to far up the road from the pier. It should be on the left if headed from the pier towards Florida. You might check them out.
Lickin Good Donuts in Robertsdale, Saraland and Mobile.
I love their Boudin, & the Conecuh Sausage with Jalapeno kolaches, and for donuts their Bacon Maple, Blueberry and Apple Fritters.
But if you're already down at the beach, then yeah, City Donuts.
Krispy Kreme on Hwy 59 in front of Lowe's in Foley!
I called them and they are nearly $11/dozen with sales tax. I was wanting to bring a couple-three dozen to the pier one morning on my next trip down but that's kinda steep, not that my pier brethren and sistren aren't worth it. Walmart's pastries are decent and cheap enough but Ide druther get some from a mom n pop shop with a little more variety and not quite so expensive as Krispy Kreme.
I think Daylight Donuts went out of business, but found this on the net.

They look similar to K May up here in Athens. I will call them tomorrow for pricing. Thanks for the info.
City doughnut has got some good bakery but they sell out early. Cheap bakery? I don't think there is such a thing anymore. I've had Licken Good bakery from Robertsdale and their new store in Foley but they ain't cheap either. For the money, I'd continue to get a variety at Walmart especially because they're reasonable and open 24 hrs. I'd like to do business at a mom and pop place but there's just not much to pick from at a price that's reasonable!
i am looking forward to any bakery though, no matter where it comes from...
