Everyone get through the storms alright? I woke up around 2am, looked outside to see so much lightning I thought a particular Norse god was behind it ;). All I had was a few tomato plants laying over for the wind, we got extremely lucky, said a twister touched down a few miles from us.
i didnt sleep a wink cause my family was talking to my sister thats in tuscaloosa ( worried my mom sick). My sister said there was a person killed in tuscaloosa after a basement crumpled on him.
Had several friends in the Morris/Kimberly/Graysville areas north of Birmingham who sustained damage, but thankfully no injuries. Went just north and south of our home in Warrior. Praying for all of those affected.
Tons of rain and localized flooding here in Foley. Saw two cars flooded/stalled in high water in downtown Mobile on the way to work this morning.
The tornado is Brandon went just south of us....we lost power awhile...it's a mess up here is some areas
I stayed at the Comfort Inn off exit 6 in Montgomery last night, woke up to that storm too, I haven't seen such a lightning storm in over a decade.Quote:

I live on Lay Lake between Montgomery and Birmingham. The closest tornado track to me was about 7 miles away just north of lay dam about 1205 am. Then we had a monster lightning storm roll over the top of us at 3am. It was the worst I have seen in many years. Lost Uverse voice, internet, and TV for a while. Round two is nearing me now. Outer rain band just started. Alabama official death toll now up to seven.
Woke up last night around 3 to a lightning strike or near strike right down the street, then nonstop lightning and thunder until around 4 or whenever i fell asleep. The second wave is hitting now and pouring buckets, my mom said there was flooding much of the way home from west Mobile. School was let out early for the "storms" which didn't really hit until 3:30. Haven't heard of any tornados around Fairhope but hope everyone's alright everywhere.

Persistent heavy rains over central and southern Baldwin County have created a potentially dangerous situation of flash flooding and street flooding.
Several of our forum members and their families have experienced flooding in their homes!
Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as daylight brings an assessment of the damage and hopefully a swift recession in the water levels as the heaviest rains have moved eastward.
