Anniversary Dinner
Looking for a really nice place to eat for special occasion. Nicest I have found was Fish House II in Pensicola when "The Chef" was working there 2 years ago. Like to find somewhere "classy" a little closer to town. Been to GS many times and have eaten at most of the "hole in the wall" and "touristy" places in town. Looking for that place that you will be talking about years later! Not familiar with anything closer to Dauphin Island or Mobile.

Cosmo's or Cobalt in Orange Beach. Both have indoor/outdoor seating and indoor/outdoor bars. Cobalt is right on the water and has a view of Perdido pass whether you sit inside or outside. Cobalt has a nice dessert-pastry-cookie case near the exit that has some really good sweets to take with you back to your condo. There is also an open air aquarium with rays and redfish in it. I always bring in a live shrimp or 2 and let the red take it from my hand to embarrass my wife and daughter. They have a breakfast bar that IMHO is the best in GS-OB

Cobalt is really good as stated in orange Beach. If you are looking for something a little classy I would suggest Louisianna Lagniappe in Orange Beach located behind Sanroc Cay. My wife and I have eaten there three times over the past few years, with the most recent being this past Valentine's Day and we had an excellent dinner. It is on the pricier side, but it is more fine dining than most places, I would say upper casual. They have a great brunch as well on Sunday. I used to work and Mobile and was familiar with the restaurant scene over there but merely pass through now and don't know what there is to choose from now for classier meals. Hope this help Jim(hope that was your real name, I am awful at remembering names most times)!

I have never been to Cobalt's, but Cosmo's and Ship's Harbor Grill both get an A+. If you like sushi Ship's is hard to beat.

Fisher's in Orange Beach Marina - admittedly I have never been to the upstairs restaurant, which is the nicer; however, I've been downstairs to "Dockside" many times and love it. I've heard upstairs is outstanding. Louisiana Lagniappe is awesome also, been there multiple times. I agree with Cobalt, although they aren't as consistent. Villagio's at the Wharf is very good, although not as heavily seafood oriented. We stay in Orange Beach, so it's about equal distance to Perdido, FL as it is to Gulf Shores, and there's a great place called Fisherman's Corner over there. It's not too big and has a cajun inspired menu.

I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
