    Alabama Gas Leak

Just received word of leak, local station owner called to say it may be best to fill up tank as their supplier called to say that the pumps may run out of gas. News here in N.C. it that the eastern part of the state may see a shortage and price increase.
Are there any effects in Al. ?

In Birmingham I understand that the repairs will be completed middle to the end of the week. Fox news local 6 stated they had 600 workers but I find that hard to believe.

They had 500 workers on site as of yesterday evening, emergency response, repair and cleanup.
Looks like the spill is contained, most of it went into a mine reclamation pond. Luckily no gasoline has entered any tributaries to the Cahaba.
I don't think it will effect us down here on the coast, our oil & gasoline comes in from offshore or other land based pipelines.

UpState South Carolina - lines and signs at every station. They are shipping in to the coast, but it has not made it here yet. The Columbian pipeline goes right through our county and there is a huge tank farm that they use to distribute locally. Some of the stations claim they don't get their gas from that pipeline - but a bit of panic has set in and everyone is filling up today.
They better get that pipe fixed before October or I'm buying a horse to pull my pier cart south.

Today they announced they would be opening the pipe tomorrow. With a Temporary repair until final repairs will be fixed.
