    Alabama Cuisine

Is there any food or dish that is uniquely Alabamian (is that what you call yourselves?). Only thing I've found is white bbq chicken (can I get this anywhere near gulfnshores?). I have under two months to get down there and I simply can't wait. The water down there is already warmer than the air here (we had ice pellets and below freezing temps here last night!)

Possum with sweet taters. A big pot of fresh collards with smoked hocks and a big ol pan of cracklin cornbread. Big glass of cold buttermilk to wash it down with.

If your staying someplace that you are able to grill get yourself a pound of Conecuh sausage and grill it up. Slap a link of it on a slice of bread with a little mustard and enjoy. Good stuff!

So what stereotypes do you guys have about Northerner food (since your hitting on a lot of southerner stereotypes that's up here).

lutefisk, philly cheese steak, deep dish pizza, wisconsin cheese, walleye shore lunches, pike and muskie are the strongest fish in 'da world lol. These are northern stereotypes that come to mind.

+infinity to whomever said conecuh sausage, I'm convinced that or bacon will be the death of me. It is really good, and if your heading down south Alabama the facility is right off the interstate in Evergreen. You can smell it as you drive by.
