Thread: 2019 Tennessee turkeys

Opening day jake.
2nd wknd Tom. 20 lbs. 9.75 in. beard.
I also killed another tom (21 lbs. 11 inch beard)on may 4 but pic is too big to post. Same for the pic of my son's bearded (7 inch beard)hen.

Congrats on your birds! I only made it out a few times here in Oklahoma this year. Managed to call one nice tom in with two hens, but the hens came in first and were about ten feet away and unhappy but uncertain of what I was. The tom circled around and came in behind and to my left, and I attempted a shot that would have made a contortionist proud. Unfortunately, I'm not a contortionist and couldn't get my head all the way down on the stock while shooting twisted around under my armpit. the miss was more embarrassing because I had taken my girlfriend hunting that weekend... lol. Oh, and I also managed to call in two trespassing hunters on my own property.

Great kills! I only went three times here in West Tennessee. Couldn't tear myself away from catching crappie.

There are usually several times I go turkey hunting that I wished I had gone fishing but not this year. We had birds most every hunt.
