Working on a new pier cart for the season

I'll post pics as I go along but for now, looking for more unique ideas.

If you could add/change something about your cart what would it be?

I'm about to put a stronger axle on with lawn mower type tires.

Here is my bare "un-altered" base cart. It's an AMES outdoor utility cart. I'm currently at $0.00 invested because my neighbor moved and gifted it to me.

Pier family, help me build this cart!...I will modify/ make based off of your suggestions

everytime you go to the pier fill it up with ice and put rod holders on it then you can call it the "cooler cart"

anything with wheels is a plus....looks nice for the garden .... I couldn't resist ....and free is always good

Rod holders for sure, not sure if I would buy the already made set of 3 or just use pvc pipe....the pre made would be easier to mount though ....good luck with it , making has been the best part of the fun for me, and changing as I go....always a work in progress type thing.

Amazon.com: Seasense Single Piece 3 Rack Rod Holder, White: Sports & Outdoors

You can get the stuff for a DIY rod rack for about $15 at a plumbing wholesale supply house and it would probably be a lot stronger.

I would put Plexi-glass cover over the top for cutting purpose and work station.

    Delta Rods,
I would mount all of my rod holders in the full vertical position unless you plan to fish a rod, from the cart, at the rail. Having a rod tip trailing 5 feet behind you, and swinging out when you turn to manuever or park, will catch other rods in other carts.
It also poses a potential for injury to the unobservant who may try to walk around your cart only to be clothes-lined by that rod sticking out at a 45 degree angle.

It actually becomes almost completely vertical while in transit. I also positioned it like this so I could more easily work on tackle while on the pier. It was never meant to hold a rod while sitting idle...unless its during one of my wade fishing adventures.
