You could get the stock wheel at J&M to fit your vertical tube.....I have found the newer carts have thinner aluminum and needed to re enforce the mounting area....now I do tend to carry/transport more stuff then most:D

I purchased mine on Amazon. You can purchase it direct from Service Caster Corporation. 5" Stainless Steel threaded stem caster-total lock-poly wheel-300 lb capacity- 3/8-16 thread. My cart came with the plastic wheel that had a 1'x1' insert with the height adjustment holes. The original wheel screwed into the base. I had to run a 3/8-16 tap into the existing threads as they were fine thread or metric. That was it. Works great screwed all the way in and the cart sets level. The standard plated caster will save you quite a bit. I guess it depends on how much you are out there in the elements as to the longevity. Probably would have been fine for me with a couple of weeks on the pier per year but I always go overboard on stuff. OCD I think? May need reinforcing like Ironman said?Quote:

I put one on my cart before this trip that I picked up at Tractor Supply. A five inch one designed to run on concrete and it worked perfectly. I had a couple flat pieces 1/4 inch x 1 inch x 3 inch aluminum that I just bolted it on the frame with.
I've found a pneumatic rubber wheel @ Harbor Freight for about $8 and bought 2 u-boats that fit the mounting plate. Then simply bolted it to the frame. Cheap fix and has been working great for years.
Dido for the harbor freight pneumatic tire castor. I asked a similar question year before last when I broke my original bfront wheel off on the uneven boards. I had already extended the front on my cart out to hold a milk crate for extra tackle or 5 gallon bait bucket. This made a great place to attach the castor. Mine isn't stainless. I wash it religiously and apply good lubricant after each vacation. 2 years and counting. :-)
