did that move the reel seat forward or was the handle added before the build.....I know Slim is a tall guy so maybe the extra length from butt to reel seat works for himQuote:

I am with you on working better with Steel Ironman! I have an old Diawia rod that needs rebuilding. I am trying to learn vicariously through you so i can if i decide to do it myself instead of paying someone to do it

Found another 9ft-4in rod and the light sanding isn't getting some areas where the old guides were the same.......do I need to keep lightly sanding or try something else?
Just keep sanding. You can add a little heat to loosen it up at little. Just dont use to much

I keep sanding the guide areas ......doesn't seem to help much......next to placing the new guides in the same location. .....not sure what else to do......guess II'll sand some more......not going to use heat.....it's all stripped ......I'll try and post a couple pics,if I can figure out how to off this tablet

Slim just wanted to be like John:barbershop_quartet_ The butt extension was add for extra rod length and the reel seat was placed with the extension in mind so the butt length is still around 15".
