Favorite blank
My son will be graduating high school this year and wants a new king rod. What blank would you suggest. He does not want a Gator blank.

Re: Favorite blank
I like a old two piece rod I acquired from a friend. It all depends on what he is looking for in a rod. Whether he is looking for a snobbling rod, or a free line rod, as well as a 9ft rod or 8ft rod, not to mention the option of glass or graphite. There are so many different factors that play into what makes a good king rod you really need to feel some and find what is appropriate for your needs.

I love my white lami for working dead baits
Give a googan a king, and he can eat for a day. But teach a googan how to kingfish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years
