Thread: Shout Out for Reel_Doc

Nov 05th prior to taking the ferry to Ft. Morgan, my son and I fished off the rocks behind Ft. Gaines.
In doing so we came across a rod-reel wedged down in the rocks, crappy beat to heck Shakespeare with sorry looking Penn 8500SS.
Never one to leave a Penn to die a lonely death, I took it home.
The inside was surprisingly decent and cleaned up nice and ran smooth enough, but the reel's body was trashed.
After seeing some of Doc's stuffed and having been referred to him for parts I dropped him a PM and arranged for him to refinish it.
He did just that, and the reel looks great and even runs a little better with his regime of treatment.
Doc took the time to do a little more than asked, and asked no more than originally agreed.

Doc very nice to meet ya, and thanks again.
To those who don't know Reel_Doc, if you need a tune-up, refinishing or whatever, give him a call.

Agreed. I have gotten a few parts from him over the past year. He is always helpful. Very nice guy. Also got to fish with him on his boat in July. Had a blast. Great guy to fish with.

real good luck coming across that penn, and you know its nice to have a guy who'll do that kind of thing for you, and hint to all knew-bees, that IS the back-bone of the real pier regulars, looking out for one another is the name of the game for us! :fishing: :headbang:

No matter what part you are looking for, Larry either has it or can find it. Larry is definitely the best on the coast.
