Pompano rig
Well it won't be long before the fish start showing up and I've been looking into new techniques and tips to try and I came across this pompanp rig. This guy has an awesome channel if you're more into the inshore/beach fishing. Enjoy guys.

From what I've seen he uses a yellow surf rod, maybe 9 or 10'.

In some of the comments on his videos, he mentions he uses a custom converted 9' fly rod blank.

Newby question is this fished with a Carolina rig? With the floating jig above the weight do you put bait or dress the hook in any way?

I've most often seen those floaters in tandem rigs.
usually fished with pieces of shrimp or sandfleas.
Best in rougher (dingier) water IMHO.(RETIRED) mostly.

I see that now. I have used a rig similar fished Carolina style where the floating jig is below and moves up and down when you give it jerks.

Hey guys I made these last year and bough 2 size floats.Went to floats unlimited and phone order in,got Po87yw floats which in thought were about 3/4 in to big.the other order was Po75yw which were perfect size for me and I caught most fish on.They are a little compared to 87 ones, size about 1/2 inch. These are peg floats with no slots.I removed the black plastic tube by just giving it a pull,You can put them back after taking them out if you want.
I had to call in order because the Po75yw pear shaped floats were not listed in yellow yw.When they came the sandwich bag wrapper 25 in bag.The bag had a stamp on it

These are dual purpose peg floats for fixed or slip fishing.i used them fixed only and caught a lot of different fish on them including a 24 inch flounder.
i made 100 and my grandson only wants them on when we surf fish.So over this winter I made him 50 more.
just one thing I like small floats not the bigger po87yw ones.
check out floats Unlimited web site Phone number 512-295-3009
hope this helps. Tom
My favorite PO75YW small pear shaped no slot.
