I have both the Battle 4000 and 5000 I can catch most any fish that you can catch from the pier or surf with those Love them both For your target fish I think you'll love the 4000

... for pier or boat, the Battle is plenty up to the task.
About the only difference between it and the Conflict is it has two additional bearings and costs $20 more.
For shore work, I like the SS-V due to it's solid spool and sealed drag to keep the sand out.

Thank you both I trust your opinion. I found a good deal on the SS-V 4500. Think I'll give it a try. See y'all in a couple weeks.

Can't go wrong with that I have two of those too Have used that model for over 40 years Great reels The Battles feel a little more powerful to me but the SS V 4500s Are great reels
I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
