    Penn 706z Power knob

Has anyone ever replaced the standard 706 reel knob with a power knob? Is the process of changing the knob worth the effort or just stick with the stock knob?

Stick with the stock "pancake" knob. It is as iconic as the growl made by the bearings in the line roller. Beside that, despite its size and simplicity, 706s aren't power reels.

You want to replace the whole handle, not just the knob.
    It is all one part.

If you are talking about just the knob yes. I have an aftermarket aluminum knob put on mine and it is so comfortable. Was $25 installed and worth every penny.
