Penn 440ss problem
I picked the reel up at a yard sale last Saturday for $5. The problem is the bail. The reel is in good shape and doesnt look like it had amd saltwater use. When I manually flip the bail, like I was going go cast, it locks into place but when I turn the handle to engage the reel the bail barely moves, goes straight up and down, and just spins when I reel. Anyone know whats broken or what I need to replace?

Could be a couple of things. 1st could be the bail spring. 32-440 Next, could be the where the trip lever is. Opposite side from bail spring. These graphite reels have had a problem with the peg that that part sits on will break off. Hopefully that is not the problem cause you will have to get another rotor if it is.

I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
