old mitchell 303?
I saw one of these on ebay pretty cheap are the good reels? I was going to get a new penn fierce at walmart but if these reels are decent may just go with them because I understand the new stuff will not be built as good as older reels ( I am talking about reels from wally world not good ones). I have alot of learning to do before I throw down some cash for a great reel .

...or a right hand crank for rightys who learned to throw a 5500C with their left hand when they were a kid and never changed over. 8)
I have one - I like it but if you plan on putting a New Old Stock PUM on it, plan on waiting a LONG time to find one and then spending around a C note for it. Truth is, I sent it off, got it taken completely down and cleaned with a few new internals added and plan on retiring it to the trophy shelf. According to Penn, the Spinfisher V 6500 will be available in a bail-less model in September 2013. That's what I'm waiting on.Screw it. Let's ride.

I am a lefty but I just try to learn everything after all everything seems to be made for right handed peeps. I even learned to play golf with right hand clubs because ones for left handed people were so high back then.

Re: old mitchell 303?
I'm a lefty also and I'm not going to try to switch ,though as you say ;it seems that would be the easiest thing to do . I'm just not that coordinated .Plus, I enjoy seeking out the the odd lefthanded tools . . I like fishng with my Mitchel 303 ,305,301 and my penn 305 and 311 ,but as deepdiver alluded to parts can be hard to find and expensive .So unless you just like fishng with the vintage gear like many do .The newer reels are not that expensive and readily convert from right to left . These are my remblings for the day .

I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
