Wonder who might be interested, I am coming down 10/8 to 10/16. I have a bunch of pieces of 2" PVC that I used to make a soccer goal for the kids. The wind blew in down a couple of months ago. If anyone wants a piece or two, for free, let me know and I'll put it in the pack of the truck and you can pick it up at the pier!
One of the big box stores in Gulf Shores had a parts kit/instructions once upon a time. Are instructions available on this site or online?

When do the ghost shrimp come in ?
Ghost shrimp are always there (in the surf zone), but not very accessible except at lower tides which occurs more often during daytime in the cooler months.
These are words of wisdom! I hope that fishermen, who gather their own bait, take this advice about prospecting for ghost shrimp during low tides in the cooler months. During the summer, they seem to disappear sometimes, but they (ghost shrimp) are likely just in water that is too deep at that time to prospect for them. It's great exercise and there are times in the winter when ghost shrimp are what whiting and pompano want. Sheepshead will also eat them!Quote:

And I have to say without a doubt, if you have a ghostie tied on there, and nothing is eating it,….there are no fish there to be had.
It’s like crack cocaine and a sugar high all in one package for surf fish.
You know the expression "Everything eats shrimp". Well that is true for ghost shrimp times 10!
I took a special trip to Dauphin Island this week primarily to catch ghost shrimp. That part went well, i put up 5 batches for future use.
They freeze ok, and the fish still eat them. But Miracle thread is your friend if you plan to cast them...
I'm experimenting this winter with vacuum-sealing my frozen ghost shrimp. I'm going to have half in plastic baggies and the other half in vaccum-sealed bags, to see if there's a difference. Both are being put up patted dry, to reduce ice damage to the tissue. As for Miracle Thread - I like using it whenever I put a ghost shrimp on. I seem to get more hookups if they're in the mood for nibbling before they gulp it down.Quote:
