getting the lead out
well needed to melt down the whole lead plates instead of cutting them with a portable band saw to fit my small 4lb electric pot in the basement......picked up a couple aluminum corn molds and a cast pot at the flea market....made things real easy to melt down and make smaller lead pieces to use in the electric pot.....for some of the lead casting I have been doing lately... :boohoo: still working on an easier process, but am getting better at it.....all the time :yay: ....60lbs went quick once everything got HOT

Hey Bill, have you considered changing you name to Leadman172?oke1:
Are you going to be selling any of the small jigs while you’re down in June? If so, I want some.

Re: getting the lead out
Hey Bill, try a little corn starch in those corn bread molds to lighten em up ;-)
Nice work! :headbang:
+ 1 on the jigs IF you're looking to sell some.

Leadman172 .....that's a good one.....all this will come to an end soon.....well a few years I guess
not real sure?? I have been striping the regular paint off and powder painting them, after doing good with the spanish on the white head and chartreuse hair.....and the powder paint outlasted the jig....that was my fault....should have retied way before it was lost....that 60lb mono doesn't last for ever.....but fun while it lasted.....many fish too
the jigs work good up here for the walleye.....that I was hoping for :yay:Bill..............

Re: getting the lead out
Did you machine your own mold for the vertical jigs or did you buy it pre made?
I remember an old post mentioning http://www.do-itmolds.com/ but wasn't sure exactly what mold you said you were using.

hand made out of 1/2in. aluminum checker plate(both sides).....tried before I went the bondo route, and worked good enough for me.... with a little filing....after poured ....it's been trial and error with what wire to use and how to do it.....but seems good for now.
these are 300gram(10-1/2 to12oz) 195gram(6-3/4oz) 148gram(5-1/4oz)Bill..............

I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
