Thread: Fishing cart axle lubrication

I wonder what is the best lubrication is for pier/surf cart tires and axles as when I used the hard rubber tires the plastic was wearing out from the metal axles and when I switched to an orange balloon tire kit the same happened, I did follow the listed lube recommended but the noise and wear continues so I switched to "Blaster dry lube" from an auto parts store and that works but needs reapplying from time to time.

The instructions with mine said silicone spray ONLY, but I have balloon tires.

With metal to plastic contact the softer will wear , the plastic . I have both types of wheels and I know that at some point I'll have to replace the wheels or come up with a bushing / bearing setup , As for now I spray them with silicon spray after I hose them off, do the
rods and reels at the same time .

Mine has a zerk greese fitting but came factory lubed. ...they are wheel barrow wheels from rural king steel bearings and rim (300 lb capacity) replaced the ballon tires
