DIY Lures
It's been 5 months since I've been able to fish, and likely to be at least 5 more. To pass some time I thought I'd play around with some homemade lures.
Presenting a casting spoon made out of a dinner spoon:

Will be interesting to see if Spanish and blues will go for this next summer.

I made one out of a chrome can opener [also known as a church key] once. I used it in Mexico and caught a bunch of Cuda and Macks on it.

Awesome repurpose job. Don't see why they wouldn't work. Especially Spring Spanish.

I ended up with 3 spoons and 3 jigs for $2.50. The weight is a bit lower than id like at around half an ounce. Will probably make another set of heavier ones if i can find the right silverware.

A good source of cheap spoons and other silverware for lure-making is your local Salvation Army or thrift store.

Those will catch fish. Good Luck!
I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
