DIY fish trophies- Skull or skeleton in shadowbox

Does anyone do anything beside take photos to remember fish that they catch?

99.9% of the time I take a pic of "trophy" fish and let them go. If I decide to do a mount I'll get a replica. Artists now can make it look exactly like the picture you send them.

Most of the time that's what I do too. The smaller striper skeleton was one that I kept to eat. The skull from the larger striper was one that I couldn't revive after landing.

I like to decorate a dinner plate with their burnt carcasses.

I do like striper on the half shell, grilled to a nice char on the scale side... Wonder if that would work for Spanish?

It does work for Spanish too, you just don't cook it as long.

What DRH said, we don't use shadow boxes,we use dinner plates.

Lol. The shadow box comes after the dinner plate.
